Vicki Zhao is a Master Tai Chi & Qigong Teacher. She is also certified in the following disciplines: Holistic Health, Wellness & Nutrition as well as certified in basic First Aid, CPR and use of AED.
Besides teaching Chinese language and culture, I am passionate to help people live a healthy and happy life with holistic approach and Chinese medicine. I studied Tai Chi and Qigong during college years in China. I have been teaching both exercises in different states over 12 years.
My holistic health consultation focuses on healthy lifestyle establishment, natural healing with foods and necessary supplementation, home remedies and self-administered meridian treatments. Generally,  people are overloaded with antibiotics and other drugs and receive unnecessary surgeries. When you know that food is your best medicine, nature provides plenty of herbs for healing. You will feel empowered. The human body was designed to heal itself; we just need to learn how to offer the help it needs. Holistic approach is the way to go.
Numerous studies have shown that Tai Chi and Qigong are effective treatments for anxiety, depression, arthritis, osteoporosis, pain, memory loss and more. Their health benefits are phenomenal and best of all -they are easy to learn.

What is it like to go to Vicki for holistic health consultation?

The initial 1.5 hours session is for your health and lifestyle assessment to get a whole picture of your health. The following session is goal setting and creating an individualized plan. You will make lifestyle, diet and other changes to improve your health. Afterwards, I will be at your side to help you achieve your goal. Some people received immediate results, while others took a little while. You will learn new knowledge and skills, gain power over your health.

Choose the Class Right for You
Tai Chi or Qigong?

Tai Chi takes about 12 sessions/hours to complete. If you take class twice a week, it take 6 weeks. People who can't commit 12 hours for Tai Chi right now,  can start with Qigong first. It only takes 6 sessions to complete one set of classic Qigong. It has less movements compares to Tai Chi, so it is easier to learn.  The benefits of both exercises are phenomenal and last a lifetime.  Tai Chi and Qigong can reduce stress, ease pain, improve memories, strengthen organ functions, improve digestion, strengthen nervous system, improve flexibility, speed up recovery after surgery, to name a few.
I've been looking for a Tai Chi leader for a while to continue my training and I'm so happy to have found Vickie. She is a great instructor, she's patient, and willing to review as much as needed. I've completed level 1 and am looking forward to level 2. I do highly recommend Vickie as your instructor for Tai Chi or Qigong.

Vicki is a knowledgeable and patient teacher of Tai Chi. I took her class to learn the 24-form Tai Chi sequence. Vicki understands the best way to teach the movements: first get the basics, then slowly shape the form over time into more correct movements. Having feedback from an in-person teacher is crucial to learning the right way.

I came across Vicki's Tai Chi website during a transitional time of my life. I was experiencing burnout, depression, and compassion fatigue from my previous job at a maximum level. Once I began Tai chi sessions with Vicki, she understood and educated me and my group members on the many benefits that could be gained from learning Tai chi.
